HPO-PM HEALTH PROMOTION OFFICER: PRACTICAL SKILLS MODULES

Practical Skills Modules:

  1. Mobilise community to address community health issues, NQF Level 3, 4 Credits.
  2. Identify the service needs and ease of access to health and social services, NQF Level 3, 4 Credits.
  3. Promote healthy life styles and mental wellbeing, NQF Level 3, 6 Credits.
  4. Promote HIV prevention including HIV testing, condom use, partner reduction, circumcision, STI treatment, NQF Level 3, 4 Credits.
  5. Provide information on prevention of accidents and incidents in homes, NQF Level 2, 4 Credits.
  6. Record and report on information provided to individuals, households and communities, NQF Level 3, 4 Credits.
  7. Promote and provide support for maternal and women's health, NQF Level 2, 14 Credits.
  8. Promote child health, NQF Level 4, 4 Credits.
  9. Support community members with psychosocial problems, NQF Level 4, 3 Credits.
  10. Provide an integrated approach to support treatment adherence, NQF Level 3, 4 Credits.
  11. Identify and treat a select number of minor ailments, NQF Level 2, 8 Credits.

Work Experience Modules:

  1. Operation and dynamics of communities, NQF Level 4, 6 Credits.
  2. Household registration and assessment processes, NQF Level 3, 14 Credits.
  3. Health promotion processes, NQF Level 3, 6 Credits.
  4. Formal health provision processes, NQF Level 2, 12 Credits.
  5. Emotional and social wellness support processes, NQF Level 3, 6 Credits.
  6. Household treatment processes of minor ailments, NQF Level 3, 16 Credits.

Total Credits for Work Experience Modules: 60.

PARALEGAL-1 NATIONAL CERTIFICATE: PARALEGAL PRACTICE (SEMESTER 1)

What is a paralegal?

The National Paralegal Institute identifies a Paralegal as a person who is qualified by education, training or work experience to perform legal, social welfare or related work, which requires a basic knowledge of the law.

THE PARALEGAL MAY BE FOUND:

  • In community based advice offices run by community organisations or NGO’s
  • Employed by a government department or a non-government organisation
  • Working in Labour Law consultancies or for trade unions
  • Employed by a Legal Practitioner or Legal Firm
  • Self-employed as a Paralegal Practitioner or Legal consultant
  • Employed in a banking, insurance or other corporate environment

  • The Minister of Police has recently indicated the South African Police Services will be looking to employ Paralegals to assist in police stations throughout the country.

SASSETA Accreditation

The course is registered on the National Qualification’s Framework at Level 5 (NQF5). The School is FULLYaccredited by SASSETA to provide training and learner assessment. The School offers a unique programme which includes additional legal content modules in order to ensure that our graduates receive a fully integrated qualification.

POLICING-2YR-S1 2 YEAR NATIONAL DIPLOMA POLICING (SEMESTER 1)

This qualification can be completed within 24 months.

Learners who have a Matric Pass with Diploma Endorsement or higher qualify for this course. 

POLICING-1YR-S1 1 YEAR NATIONAL DIPLOMA POLICING (SEMESTER 1)

This course is intended for serving Police Officers with at least 1 year active service.

Holders of the following qualifications are also eligible:

 National Certificate: Close Protection NQF 5
 National Certificate: Tactical Road Traffic Operations NQF 5
 National Certificate Resolving of Crime NQF Level 5 or
 National Certificate: Forensic Science NQF Level 5
