What is a paralegal?
The National Certificate: Paralegal Practice (SAQA ID 97228) is an NQF Level 5 qualification designed to equip learners with foundational legal knowledge, office administration, and ethical skills for supervised legal support roles in South Africa
Core Modules & Competencies
- Legal Principles and Practice: Introduction to the South African legal system, divisions of law, court jurisdictions, and basic civil/criminal procedures.
- Business Principles and Practice: Business ethics, client relationship management, and professional communication.
- Office Support and Administration: Day-to-day legal office management, record-keeping, and technology utilization.

Admission Requirements
Since a certain amount of mature language comprehension is required it is recommended that prospective students have completed grade 12 schooling (matric) OR be at least 23 years of age with at least 3 years working experience (without a grade 12/matric qualification).
